Problem

Context and what success required.

Ratio Energy's platforms put real-time energy data in front of operators around the clock. With 30,000+ real-time signals flowing into the browser, performance and memory usage decide whether the interface stays stable.

Who it's for
Operators who run energy operations 24/7.
Why it mattered
An unstable or crashing monitoring UI takes live operations out of view.
Success measured by
Stability under high-frequency data and fewer browser crashes.

Responsibilities

What I owned on this project.

  • Frontend architecture
Designed the frontend architecture and led the key technical decisions.
  • Operator interfaces
Dashboards, alarm management and monitoring screens for 24/7 operations.
  • Performance & memory
Performance and memory work that made the UI more stable and cut browser crashes.
  • Real-time data
Contributed to the WebSocket infrastructure for high-frequency data streams.
  • Design system
Led the move to a shared design system and a reusable component library.
  • Mentoring
Mentored a team of 3 frontend engineers on architecture, code quality and AI-assisted development.
